I had a spare hour at lunchtime today so it was spent at Pantygasseg near Pontypool for the large Brambling flock that was reported yesterday. There were still good numbers about but they were very flighty.Difficult to digiscope as they were moving around to quickly.
After visiting the Snow Bunting I stopped off at Park Cwm Darren Lake south East of Merthyr Tydfill for the Long Tailed Duck.It was Quite happily diving away with a few coot and a couple of mallard for company.
Another Snow Bunting but this time it was this side of the Severn bridge(getting closer to Gwent all the time)Viewing conditions difficult due to the gale force winds but still managed some shots as it walked past at about six feet.It got so close at one stage that the auto focus on the camera didn't work.
