Oriental Pratincole, Frampton Marsh, Boston

Arrived just in time to watch it flying around in front of the hide for an hour or so before it was seen to thermal up with some gulls and disappear out of sight.

New Gwent Record

122 Species recorded it the County of Gwent within 24Hrs.Breaking the record set in 2008 by 3.
Started at Garn lakes at midnight and ended at uskmouth at about 9:30pm.A few species missed by not all of the team getting on to them but that's always going to happen.A big Sit could be a Good idea at Goldcliff or how many species can be racked up within the reserve boundaries could be rewarding.Did manage to check out the wet field this afternoon only because it involved walking less than 5 feet from the van.

Who Would

Well who would believe it.A pager message of singing Iberian Chiffchaff at Wentwood late one evening.Must be checked out the following morning. And there it was in full song.It do dwindle out as the day progresses so early morning is best if you want to hear the full monty.
